Journey to Arm Balances – with Emily

This workshop is for you if:

1. You want to get your first lift-off
2. You’ve  almost got your arm balances but aren’t quite there yet
3. Or you have a steady crow pose and want to explore what comes next

Journey to Arm Balances is a two-hour exploration of the foundations behind arm balancing. We’ll start by building the strength, alignment, and confidence needed to lift safely and with control, before gradually progressing into variations for those ready to go further.

If you’re new, you’ll learn how to set up properly, shift your weight without fear, and understand why arm balances work. If you already have crow pose in your practice, you’ll refine your technique and begin exploring shapes such as side crow and flying side crow.

Throughout the workshop, we’ll explore:

• How to create a strong and stable base through the hands and shoulders
• Crow pose (Bakasana) foundations and refinements
• Side crow (Parsva Bakasana)
• Flying side crow variations
• Practical drills to continue building strength and confidence at home

Expect a supportive, focused, and playful environment where you can challenge yourself at your own pace. There will be clear progressions, options, and time to experiment.

This workshop is suitable for those with some yoga or movement experience who feel ready to explore arm balances in a structured and encouraging way.

 

Please note: As arm balances require weight-bearing through the wrists and shoulders, this workshop may not be suitable for those with injuries or conditions affecting the upper body.
