A Quick Vinyasa Yoga Sequence for Morning Practice

If you’d like to incorporate Vinyasa yoga into your morning routine, here’s a simple flow that can help you wake up your body, increase energy, and set a positive tone for the day. This short sequence can be completed in just 10-15 minutes.

Mountain Pose (Tadasana)

Start in mountain pose. Stand straight and tall, with your feet together and your arms by your sides. Ground down through your feet, engage your thighs, and lengthen your spine. Take a few deep breaths.

Forward Fold (Uttanasana)

On an exhale, fold forward from your hips, bringing your hands either to the ground or to your shins. Relax your neck and let the weight of your head go. Keep a slight bend in your knees if this helps you reach the ground. This pose will stretch out the hamstrings and relieve any tension in your back.

Halfway Lift (Ardha Uttanasana)

Inhale and lift halfway up, bringing your hands to your shins or thighs. Lengthen your spine and engage your core, creating a flat back. This pose helps to activate your core and stretch the back.

Upward-Facing Dog (Urdhva Mukha Svanasana)

Lower down to the ground, then inhale as you press into your hands and lift your chest into Upward-Facing Dog. Your legs should be off the ground, and your chest should open. This pose stretches the front of the body while strengthening the arms and back.
